Nature Contemplation

Edward sat cross-legged in the middle of his meadow. He held a bright blue wildflower between his thumb and forefinger, twirling it rapidly by the stem and watching the center blur. The sound of the creek gurgled nearby and he smiled pleasently, closing his eyes and letting the summer wind tousle his hair. he spoke only once in the natural wonderland, one word, spoken with breathless longing.
